Hi,
I would like to have some session ideas for improving communication of our wards..
I m listing some of Ideas..

Communicative Skills for Children
Story Forming
Kids love listening to stories, but what about making a story of their own. This exercise solely depends on the verbal interaction of the kids to form a story. Narrate a gist of a story to the kids before starting the game. Cut out some pictures of the same story from a book or you can even sketch it on your own and laminate them. Scatter all the pieces of pictures in front of a small group of kids and ask them to arrange it in a sequence of the story that they have just heard by communicating among each other. Once they have finished doing this, ask each one to narrate their part of story through the picture.

Just Half a Minute
Make chits of words that are common among the kids and place them in a fishbowl. Now ask each student to come up and pick out a chit from the bowl and speak for 30 seconds on the word. The sentences should be small and simple in structure to avoid any grammatical mistakes. This exercise is quite similar to an extempore that helps in developing confidence and face the audience other than these skills.

Identify the Object
These skills are more effective when performed in a group, so for this you need to have a group of at least five to seven players. Blind fold one of them and make him stand at the corner of the room. Keep an object that requires an elaborate description to understand and to identify like a lamp, a computer, a table fan, a toaster, etc. Now ask rest of the students to start describing the features of the object one by one to the blind folded one. He may also ask questions for further explanations and identify the object in the stipulated time.

Listen and Draw
For this activity two students are required. Make them stand in a straight line, one behind the other at a distance. Give a blank drawing sheet to the one standing at the front and a sheet with an image drawn using geometrical shapes like a bird, an ice-cream cone, a house, etc. to the second kid. Now ask him to give instructions to the other one to draw the image without revealing the identity of the object drawn. This exercise would enhance the verbal expression of the child.

Sathya, all the activities that you have mentioned are excellent !! In the same way, the activities mentioned in the google-doc that you sent, are also very nice. In my opinion, we should include at least two topics for this workshop, if not all.

Few More Ideas :
Blindfolded Relay
Communication is the key to success in this fast-paced game. To play, take your students out to the playground. Divide students into groups of three or four students each. Tell the students that they are going to complete in a blindfolded relay. Ask each team to select an individual to run the race for their team. Blindfold the selected individuals.

Ask the remaining students to create an obstacle course using cones, toy hoops, ropes or any other paraphernalia that you have laying around the classroom. Allow the students to spread this material around the field randomly.

Next, line the blindfolded students up at one end of the field, and place their teammates at the other. Tell the students that they must yell out directions to their blindfolded player to help this individual dodge any materials laying in the field. The first team to successfully assist their teammate in navigating the field wins the game.

Human Drawing
Use the Human Drawing Game to improve listening and communication. Nominate someone to be verbal leader, who will be out of sight of the team. Give the leader index cards with shapes on them one card at a time. Have the leader explain how to form each shape to team members, who can't ask questions but may talk to one another. Once the team forms the shape, the leader moves on to the next card. Use the game to develop effective listening in a team and verbal communication in a leader.

I just went through some pdf shared by chennai team for life skills. I guess we can do the below activities and make it as GD.

Listening for better Communication
Time: 45 minutes.
Objective: Young people will learn and practise listening skills.
1. Have the young people form pairs – encourage the young people to form pairs with peers they
haven’t paired with before. When everyone has a partner have the pairs sit together.
2. Then one of them should start by describing to the other an important event in her/his life, which
made him/her feel happy.
3. The listener should say nothing, but should just concentrate hard on hearing what is being said.
After a couple of minutes, the facilitator/teacher will ask the listener to stop listening. She/he could
yawn, look elsewhere, turn around, whistle, do whatever she/he wants to show that she/he has
stopped listening, although the speaker should continue to describe her/his story. After a couple of
minutes, the Facilitator/Teacher will call “halt”.
4. At this stage, the speaker and listener should change roles. Repeat Steps 2 and 3 of the exercise.
Use the questions given below to stimulate group discussion and personalize the discussion to the daily
lives of the young people.

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS
1. How did the youth feel as a speaker? Encourage them to compare telling their
story to a willing listener and telling it to non-willing listener.
2. How did the youth feel as good and bad listeners?
3. What are the qualities of good and bad listening?
4. In what other ways we communicate with one another, apart from spoken
language? Could you make out from the body language of the listener whether
she/he was listening?
5. Why is effective communication important to young people?
PERSONALIZING SKILLS TO LIFE
1. How would these skills in communication be effective in your daily life? Are
there times when these skills can be used? What are some examples of situations
when you can use these skills?
2. What do you do when the person you are communicating with is not listening?
What steps can you take to communicate more effectively?
3. Have you ever-sought advice on how to communicate? Why do you choose this
person? Has their support been useful?
4. Is there someone else who can also advise you? How would you approach them?
